Maraging / Vascomax Alloy Steels

We at Chamunda Industries are Manufacturer Stockiest of Maraging Steel Vascomax alloy Round Bar Sheet Plate Coils Rings Pipes In Mumbai India This iron-based family of steels are based on a composition of iron and 18 % nickel with additions of cobalt, molybdenum and titanium plus other elements. The most frequently specified 'C' grades contain a significant amount of cobalt. There are also 'T' (titanium) grades which contain no cobalt and have a lower molybdenum content and a greater addition of titanium compared with the corresponding strength 'C' grades. The structure of the alloys are formed of fine martensite which then undergoes an aging process (precipitation hardening) giving them the name 'mar-aging' steels.

Maraging / Vascomax Alloy Steels are characterised by ultra-high strength, simple aging treatment which minimises distortion, high levels of toughness, moderate corrosion resistance (similar to that of standard martensitic steels), good machinability (usually in the annealed condition) and good weldability.

Applications are diverse and include missile casings, tooling, ordnance mounting blocks, high performance autosport components, couplings, bearings, load cells, landing gear components, transmission shafts, jet engine components and helicopter drive shafts.

Grade C200

UNS        K92810

A Maraging Steel / Vascomax Alloy Steels containing 8.5% cobalt and 3.3% molybdenum. This steel is produced by vacuum arc remelting, and provides a high strength, though low compared with other maraging steels, nominally 200 ksi tensile (1380 MPa) with an above average level of toughness. The alloy retains its strength up to 450oC and good notch impact is maintained down to minus 50oC and below. This material may be nitrided. C200 is usually supplied in the annealed condition where the microstructure consists of fine martensite before final heat treatment.

Grade C250

UNS        K92890
AMS        6512
Wr. N       1.6359
BS         S162

A Maraging / Vascomax Alloy Steels containing 7.5% cobalt and 4.8% molybdenum. This steel is produced by vacuum arc remelting, and provides a high strength nominally 250 ksi tensile (1725 MPa) with an above average level of toughness. The alloy retains its strength up to 450oC and good notch impact is maintained down to minus 50oC and below. This material may be nitrided. C250 is usually supplied in the annealed condition where the microstructure consists of fine martensite before final heat treatment.

Grade C300

UNS        K93120
AMS        6514
Wr. N        1.6358

A Maraging / Vascomax Alloy Steels containing 9.0% cobalt and 4.8% molybdenum. This steel is produced by vacuum arc remelting, and provides a very high strength nominally 300 ksi tensile (2070 MPa) with an above average level of toughness. The alloy retains its strength up to 450oC and good notch impact is maintained down to minus 50oC and below. This material may be nitrided. C300 is usually supplied in the annealed condition where the microstructure consists of fine martensite before final heat treatment.

Grade C350

UNS        K92890

Maraging Steel / Vascomax Alloy Steels alloy steel containing 12.0% cobalt and 4.8% molybdenum. This steel is produced by vacuum arc remelting, and provides a very high strength nominally 350 ksi tensile (2415 MPa) with an above average level of toughness. The alloy retains its strength up to 450oC and good notch impact is maintained down to minus 50oC and below. This material may be nitrided. C300 is usually supplied in the annealed condition where the microstructure consists of fine martensite before final heat treatment.
